I have router which I used before, now I got a new intenenet service. How do I set it up? I am trying to put a password so no one else can enter my network.
this is what I did:
I connected my router to the ethernet cable, then I connected my computer to the intenet I was getting from my router (wirelessly). then I wen on 192.168.1.1 and i changed the password and network name. the networked name changed, but there is no password yet. I mean when i try to connect to the wireless network it does not prompt for password and it says unsecured network. please Help!!How do I setup my router?

Well depending on your model of router it varies. But if I was going to set up a router I would hook the router directly to the computer via ethernet cable then open your browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari..) and type: 10.0.0.1 into the address bar and then hit %26quot;go%26quot; or the %26quot;return key%26quot; and it should take you to the router's set up page! it may prompt you for a user name and password, on our router it's Name:%26quot;admin%26quot; Password: %26quot;admin%26quot; or on some it's %26quot;1234%26quot; just mess around and google it if you can't figure that part out. Then just go to the security settings and put in the password of your choice.
