On most Windows computers, when the wireless is enabled, there's a small picture of what looks like a PC with waves emanating from it, down in the system tray (where the clock and things are - bottom right unless you've moved the taskbar around).

It's the Windows Wireless network icon and when double-clicked, should bring up the wireless settings.

Alternately, it might say something like %26quot;Windows is not managing this device%26quot; and then you need to look for another piece down there with a similar function. On our Dells, there is sometimes a second item that also deals with the wireless. Sometimes it looks like a picture of a radio antenna. Right click a few things and see what they say. Look for Wireless or WLAN or Radio.

The Windows tool is usually easier to use. Big button that says %26quot;View Available Networks%26quot; or something simple.

Do you know with some certainty what the broadcast name for your home network is? If you set it up with the instructions, hopefully that part was easy and you have the name.

Also be sure to set it up with a WEP key (secured). You don't want to run the router unsecured, because then any bozo on the block can connect to your internal network and start messing with your computers. Bad times.

Be sure to put a WEP key on the router, and then you type it into each machine you want to connect to the wireless network, and nobody else gets on.

Good luck!

I would go with WPA2 instead of WEP. More secure.
