My downstairs tenant is using my wireless connection (he knows my ssid and password), can he hack my network?

My downstairs tenant knows my ssid (wireless network name) and password, is there any way he can somehow get into my network and see what i'm doing? if so, how tecy savvy does one need to be to do this? and how would he go about this? If it's possible, i'm just going to tell him that my internet connection is slow, due to too much bandwith being used and i'll just change my wireless name and password. PLEASE HELP?

unfortunately, my brother gave him my wireless name and password because he needs the internet. Oh and by the way I do have SSID broadcast turned off.

if i change it hes gona be like why did you change it i need it ...besides hes gona say hes paying and blah blahMy downstairs tenant is using my wireless connection (he knows my ssid and password), can he hack my network?
Yes it is definitely possible. I do not know for sure how but I have read tech news saying incidents like that have happened.

The best way to prevent him from hacking into your computer is to block file sharing/ wireless printing/ screen sharing/ home network.

Air Port Express is an Apple product that is a router. Air Port express has this feature where you can create a public network and a secured network. That will make it hard for him to hack your computer if you are connected on a secure network and he is connected on a public network. If you don檛 want to spend the money on paying for a new router it may be possible to create a public network and secure network using the router you have now but you will need to do research on that.My downstairs tenant is using my wireless connection (he knows my ssid and password), can he hack my network?
Just make sure that any shared files are only what you want or don't mind him seeing.

You can make a file private without him ever needing to know.

In the network controll pannel make sure that all the files you don't want ANYONE looking in are set to private.

He can still hack into these files if he wants, but he'd have to really work for it. and then you'd have a reaosn to change to internet passowrd wouldn't you?

Hope this helpsMy downstairs tenant is using my wireless connection (he knows my ssid and password), can he hack my network?
The answer is, yes, if he is on your wireless network, he has access to your computer. He doesn't need to be tech savvy. He just needs to know how to do a google search to get the tools he needs.

yes, he can hack into you so the best thingMy downstairs tenant is using my wireless connection (he knows my ssid and password), can he hack my network?
Best bet is to change it. I'm sure his rental agreement does not say he is entitled to internet access. do you also give him free access to your telephone, does he have free access to your car? He may grumble, but you need to let him know that are not an ISP.
