To set up the printer, I have to change my wireless settings. I don't know where to find this option (on windows vista 64-bit). The wizard tells me to change my wireless settings to:

Channel : 11 (if applicable)
Network Name (SSID) : SETUP
Encryption Mode: None

I'm guessing your pretty new to this. After you've installed your router ,you should install the setup it came with. It will walk you through everything from securing your network to giving your router a name. SSID is Set Service Identifier aka the name of your network.
WEP is an ancient security feature which can be easily broken into, so I suggest you go with WPA which is WiFi Protected Access which is more secure and common nowadays. MAC filtering only allows certain devices on your network to connect to your network which you have specified.

My router keeps showing that it is broadcasting 3 networks at once, whereas it never used to. I have restored factory settings, but even after than, i get:

I just set up a triple boot with XP, Vista, and Ubuntu and both XP and Ubuntu access my network just fine, but no matter what I do in Vista, it wont let me access it.
I've tried typing it in manually, but it tells me %26quot;network already exists%26quot; and gives me 2 options, one to %26quot;choose existing network%26quot; which brings up a list of only visible SSID's (not the one i need) and the other option is something like %26quot;change the network name%26quot;
Or, alternatively is there a good wireless connection manager i can download to us in place of the default manager in Vista that would do the trick?

You don't say what OS you are using.
The simplest thing to do is change your PC's name.
VISTA - Open Control Panel and select %26quot;See the name of this computer%26quot; (bottom left of the window). Select Change Settings and then click on the button CHANGE. Type in whatever name you want, and select APPLY. you will then need to reboot your PC.

Ok not a problem ,What you have done is reset your router but can still see the old link to put simply the new connection is there but it is the old one that is viewed on the laptop it cant produce the new one till the old one is removed so her we go very simple
1.Shut down the router and leave it off
2.On your laptop go to the wireless network icon (bottom rright of you laptop )and right click it
3.Choose (Network andSharing Centre)
4.Choose(Manage Wireless Networks)
5.When your old network appears in the list highlight it and in the bar above it choose(Remove)
6.exit this back to the desktop and shut down leave it off
7.Turn on your router and let it load 2/3 mins
8.Turn on you laptop
9.Go back to the wireless icon again and right click it this time choose(Connect to a Network)
10.When your new network appears in the list select it and add you passkey/word
Hopefully that is you back on line again

Open internet explorer.. in the address bar type in 192.168.1.1 and hit go. You'll be prompted for a username and a password. Leave the username blank, and for the password type in admin
There should be a link on this page that says Wireless. Click on that and enter a name in the box where it says network name/SSID. The name you enter here will be what your network shows up as when you look for it. Hit the Save Settings button at the bottom.
Then click on the link at the top that says Wireless Security. For the security type, the easiest choice is WEP. After choosing that, there will be a drop down menu that wants to know whether you want 64 bit or 128 bit. 64 bit means you will use a 10 character key, and 128 bit means you will use a 26 character key. For ease of use, you can use a 64 bit key, then where it says Key 1 you can just enter in any 10 character password that you like, hit save settings at the bottom and you're done.

A lot of it depends on how you have created your webpage. I am talking about the links. For example lets say you have a website called www.xyz.com and you want to change it to www.zzz.com.
If alot of your links are something like www.xyz.com/newevents.html ... then you are going to have problems. This could happen if you had previously MANUALLY key in the link address.
If you had made the links by choosing a file instead (lets say you are using Dreamweaver), then the link is not specific to www.xyz.com/newevents.html only.. but can be (anydomain)/newevents.html.
Maybe you can describe how you design your website? In particular the linkings.
And as for changing the domain name, you can register a new domain name with network solutions.. and ask them to update the DNS.. if necessary (i doubt so because you are using a same provider). But ask them, about the DNS anyway.
You'd need to backup your files in the previous domain..and dump all into the new one. using FTP programs would be good.

I went to 192.168.1.1 and I changed our network name which worked out fine, but then I tried to setup a wep key. I'm thinking it's either a DNS problem or that the client computer has lost it's domain password synchronization. Have you tried removing the client computer from the domain and adding it back? The reason your printer is asking for a password is because you cannot log onto the domain for one reason or the other, so it tries to authenticate itself when you connect to it. Obviously, there's no password on the printer, but it's asking for domain authentication. Anyway, your security log on both the server and client will give you extremely good clues as to what's going on. Check unknown Event Id's on eventid.net for additional information on resolving the issues. You can also feel free to write anything you find out here and I'll see if I can answer them.

It's always better to admit mistakes and than try to fix them before someone notices. Even if you do get it fixed you should tell her what happened.
Now, you probably need to know the provider of your internet. It's probably cable or DSL. Any of them will have a tech support number that will be able to help you. The one problem is they may not help you because it isn't your house or account. Defer to admitting and doing what you can to fix it once your aunt gets home.
If you have the software for the Linksys router there is a network wizard on the CD that may be able to detect everything and get the network back up and running. You can try that also.
Most importantly understand you didn't do this on purpose and it is not a destructive mistake. It can be fixed. Maybe not right away but all you did was clear the settings. Once it's all set back up everything will work ok. In the future make sure you read instructions completely as many times as you need to to make sure you understand what you are doing. If you have any questions or don't have confidence, especially in the event you are working with someone elses equipment, wait for the owner, call tech support first, but make sure you know what every step you take does.

Well depending on your model of router it varies. But if I was going to set up a router I would hook the router directly to the computer via ethernet cable then open your browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari..) and type: 10.0.0.1 into the address bar and then hit %26quot;go%26quot; or the %26quot;return key%26quot; and it should take you to the router's set up page! it may prompt you for a user name and password, on our router it's Name:%26quot;admin%26quot; Password: %26quot;admin%26quot; or on some it's %26quot;1234%26quot; just mess around and google it if you can't figure that part out. My downstairs tenant knows my ssid (wireless network name) and password, is there any way he can somehow get into my network and see what i'm doing? if so, how tecy savvy does one need to be to do this? and how would he go about this? If it's possible, i'm just going to tell him that my internet connection is slow, due to too much bandwith being used and i'll just change my wireless name and password. PLEASE HELP?

Air Port Express is an Apple product that is a router. Air Port express has this feature where you can create a public network and a secured network. That will make it hard for him to hack your computer if you are connected on a secure network and he is connected on a public network. I've been trying to get internet on my itouch but every time i adjust my wireless settings on my laptop, i get internet on my itouch but i can't connect my laptop to the internet.
Anyway, i ended up resetting my router a couple times because i couldn't remember my password. And now my network is a little messed. My wireless networks SSID is d-link which is the name of my router (my router is dlink 1310). when i tried changing the SSID to the name of my wireless network, it reboots itself but then says ''the settings saved on this computer do not match the settings of the network'' or something of the sort and won't let me connect to the network.
Also with my router password every time i try to change the user name from admin to another name, it never does it just stays admin which is really annoying! well if anyone can help me with any of this that would be really great because i'm an idiot! %26gt;_%26lt;How do I change my SSID for my wireless network?
You can just leave the SSID as D-Link, won't hurt a thing...you definitely want to set your own password though. When you do this are you clicking on %26quot;apply%26quot;?
Your itouch and your laptop will recognize whatever SSID you have your router set to.
Now, in your WEP settings in your router, make sure you have the encryption set to 128bit and write down the key...it will be very long (forget how many characters). When your laptop does a scan, it should find your router. Select (highlight) it and then click connect. When the window comes up for the security key, enter the key you wrote down when you set up your router. The itouch should be somewhat similar.

http://192.168.0.1 usually is your hub, also you cant name two networks on the same connection the same, you can name your computers network connection the same as other computers on the network. Also if you resetted your modem it will revert it back to the admin account as for it not saving changes, it could be a battery issue, and your box is no longer recharging it. make sure you dont have any conflicting ips anywhere on the network, ie make sure all your net cards have different ips than the box and each other, that will screw up stuff. Best of what i can come up with.
