There is something called status updates... use that and you can type in whatever you want. Or you can just go to some of the comment sites and such and they have banners you can put in that spot so it won't say anything about the extended network... well the point of the extended network banner was supposed to mean that one of the viewer's friends was friends with a friend who had you as a buddy [such as tom...thats why it appears on most profiles.]. the chain could go on even longer.
but i dont think that there's a way to change it..
