Q1.)how do i change my SSID name from the default name and disallow it from broadcasting name. i'm using 2wire

wireless equipmnt.

Q2.)i read that in order to stop bandwidth theft you'll need to specify which MAC addressess are allowed to access the network but how do i get the MAC number and how do i do above?Q1.)how do i change my SSID name from the default name and disallow it from broadcasting name. i%26039;m using 2wire
You can go into the admin panel and change it from there.



Open your Internet browser to http://homeportal/management.



Click Home Network, located on the left-hand link panel, under Configuration.



You will see an entry in there for SSID: Typically he default is 2WIRE786. Change it to whatever you like. There is another checkbox there to tell you not to broadcast the network name. Thsi keeps your network somewhat secure.



Note: If you are connecting wirelessly to this portal make sure to change the network name on you remote computer. If you are not using wireless network you can ignore this coment.Q1.)how do i change my SSID name from the default name and disallow it from broadcasting name. i%26039;m using 2wire
