My downstairs tenant is using my wireless connection (he knows my ssid and password), can he hack my network?

My downstairs tenant knows my ssid (wireless network name) and password, is there any way he can somehow get into my network and see what i'm doing? if so, how tecy savvy does one need to be to do this? and how would he go about this? If it's possible, i'm just going to tell him that my internet connection is slow, due to too much bandwith being used and i'll just change my wireless name and password. PLEASE HELP?

unfortunately, my brother gave him my wireless name and password because he needs the internet. Oh and by the way I do have SSID broadcast turned off.

if i change it hes gona be like why did you change it i need it ...besides hes gona say hes paying and blah blahMy downstairs tenant is using my wireless connection (he knows my ssid and password), can he hack my network?
yep if he has the password he can put on a packet sniffer and easily see anything you do over the wireless. that is anything that is not encrypted. like what i'm typing now could be seen by a packet sniffer, also any email. but anything encrypted, like passwords and bank account numbers are usually encrypted, you can tell if you are on an encrypted site by whether or not there's a little lock icon at the bottom of the page or in the address bar. if you have the lock then it is exactly 128x or 256x harder to see.

2nd, if he's a tenant you can say %26quot;you are paying rent, not wifi service, wifi service is an extra $15/mo%26quot; don't let tenants walk all over you because if you decide to download a movie or something he'll be like %26quot;hey my internet's been slow for 4 hours!%26quot; or if you get rid of the internet he''ll say %26quot;hey where's my internet%26quot;. so i'd nip it in the bud and change it and just tell him you upgraded the new security and that you didn't know that he was on it and that your brother wasn't supposed to give you the password.

by the way if he agrees to pay you for the internet, i'd buy another router and plug it into your router and make his own wireless network on a different channel and a different password. since your traffic won't be passed through his router he won't be able to see anything you do unless he's super smart. and if he was that smart he wouldn't be someone's downstairs tenant HAHA. however you could then see his traffic fairly easily if you wanted...My downstairs tenant is using my wireless connection (he knows my ssid and password), can he hack my network?
How many times are you going to ask this question? My downstairs tenant is using my wireless connection (he knows my ssid and password), can he hack my network?
Change the password. No ifs ands or buts.
