got a brand new ipod and right out of the box it had problems wit the wifi.. it will see each wireless ntwrok and apparently connect to it, only to give an error message saying its not connected whenever web apps are used. the weirdest thing about it is the names change ever few seconds after connecting, having the connected network change its name and the normal network name pop up again. for example:
Netgear ---%26gt; Nutgear ---%26gt; Ne^gear ----%26gt; Netguar ------%26gt; Nwtgeer
like that, and the old normal netgear name will reappear on top of it, unconnected. any suggestions on how to fix this, if this if fixable at home or not?Ipod touch wifi trouble?

It is either a software problem or very likely it's your router. Update the firmware on your router (google the router model and look for it) or it may be required that you upgrade your router to a newer one.
But before doing that try going to a place with WiFi like Starbucks and connect to it and see if it works.
