Wireless network name?

i just changed my wireless network name but my old one is still available...how do i delete it from the list so that people can't connect to it?? My new network name is protected but the old one is not.Wireless network name?
The old name may just be saved in the computer that you used to connect to it., even if it is no longer active. did you use your wireless routers setup to change the wifi network name?

I found some info on http://laptoplinkz.comWireless network name?
You have to do a little exercise go to you system wireless network properties and remove the old AP setting form there and enjoyWireless network name?
Your router isn't broadcasting the old name... It's just your client that is still seeing the %26quot;cached%26quot; name.

By the way, changing the name won't keep other people from connecting to your network... Only enabling security (WEP, WPA, WPA2) will prevent them from connecting. (In the case of WEP, it will only deter someone from connecting, it won't prevent it if they want to connect, WEP can be cracked in a matter of minutes... It's kind of like locking your car door, but leaving the window open far enough for someone to reach in and unlock the door.)
